Warning: This story has quite dark themes that will only become more apparent as the chapters go on.

Summary: As a consequence of Willow's resurrection spell Buffy has ceased to age. Time passes, relationships change and she attempts to deal with the situation. Years after Sunnydale and the people she knew have passed into memory (or not as the case may be), only Spike has remained a constant presence in her life.

(Does immortality inevitably mean stagnation? If something is lost can it be found again? And is it enough to be loved, if only for a short while?)

Warning: AU - In that the premise of the tale is based on an invented consequence (or after-effect if you like) of Buffy being raised from the dead in season 6. And perhaps the events of Season 7 went a little differently (although Sunnydale is most definitely still a whacking great hole in the ground). Most of this will not be explained in great detail, it's not that kind of fic (more a character piece), and plus, it's kinda short! There will be either 5 or 7 more parts to this, depending on how quickly it lets me wrap it up.
